TOPKATA News – A traffic accident (Lakalantas) that killed dozens of people occurred near an elementary school, Jalan Sultan Agung, Kranji, Bekasi, West Java, Wednesday, August 31, 2022.

The accident started when a trailer truck was suspected of having failed brakes. Until it hit the bus stop and the base transceiver station (BTS) pole. As a result, the BTS pole collapsed and hit a passing vehicle.
Meanwhile, the people who were at the bus stop also became victims. In fact, 7 school children who were at the bus stop were reported to have died.
Information on the collapse of the BTS pole was conveyed by TMC Polda Metro Jaya through its Twitter account. The pole then hit the vehicle.
“There was an accident that the truck had a brake failure and hit a BTS pole that collapsed and hit a vehicle on Jl. Sultan Agung Kota Baru, West Bekasi. It is currently being handled by traffic accident officers in Bekasi City,” wrote TMC Polda through its Twitter account.
“So far, there are 30 victims in total. 10 people died,” said Director of Traffic and Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Latif Usman, in Bekasi, Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
Of the ten victims who died, seven of them were school children.
