TOPKATA News – The Karang Taruna of West Sumatra Province will hold a Workshop VIII at the Truntum Hotel Padang on September 2 and 3, 2022.

“This Gathering is a gathering event as well as organizational consolidation, with an agenda for selecting a chairman who will lead the West Sumatra Provincial Youth Organization for the next five years,” said Nasrul, SH, Secretary of the Organizing Committee (OC), in Padang, Wednesday, August 31, 2022,
Nasrul said that the event will be opened by the General Chairperson of the Youth Organization, Dr. Didik Mukrianto SH, MH. It is planned that the Governor of West Sumatra will also be present, as well as participants of the Work Meeting, Karang Taruna administrators from districts / cities in West Sumatra.
According to Nasrul, there are rules for the selection of the Head of Karang Taruna for the Province of West Sumatra 2022-2027. Where there are 15 district/city Karang Taruna administrators who have voting rights. While the other 4 do not have voting rights for reasons of organizational rules.
“So those who will choose the chairman are 15 district/city youth organizations that have voting rights,” said Putra Pessel, who is an advertising entrepreneur.
Separately, the Chairperson of OC Asran, AMd, said that it was not just anyone who could advance to become the Chair of the West Sumatra Province Youth Organization. According to him, there are conditions that must be met. So, a cadre can run for chairman.
The requirements for the candidate for chairman include;
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Domiciled in West Sumatra (according to KTP).
- Have a 30 percent letter of support from the district/city active KT.
- Minimum age of 25 years and maximum 55 years.
- Have been active as a KT administrator at the level for 1 period or a lower level KT administrator with an attachment to a decree.
- Not being involved in the law or criminal threats.
- Must fill out a letter of commitment as a candidate for chairman.
