The zoning system path on PPDB is a new student admission path based on the zone of residence.
The Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) through the Minister of Education and Culture Number 44 of 2019 has implemented this admission route. PPDB can be followed by prospective students who will enter at the kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school / vocational levels. The rules that have been made were signed by Nadiem Makarim as Minister of Education and Culture on December 10, 2019 and officially began to be implemented.
In addition to knowing the requirements that must be met in the zoning system, the impact gained from enforcing this system is always reviewed. The positive impacts are numerous, such as, first, equitable access to education.
Second, bring the school environment closer to the family environment.
Third, abolish exclusivity and discrimination.
Fourth, assist in the analysis of the calculation of teacher needs and their distribution.
Fifth, encourage the creativity of teachers.
Sixth, assist local governments in providing assistance.

In its implementation, the zoning system does not recognize ethnicity, race, and culture, all children can go to schools that are close to where they live. It doesn’t matter whether the school is a superior school or not.
Besides that, there are also some slight weaknesses that need to be studied, such as in looking at the distance on the geogle map. The decisions made sometimes still do not look at the nearest place to live based on the access road that students go through to go to school.
